Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!! 🌝🥮 I made this mooncake girlie to highlight the icon of the holiday’s origin story I was told as a kid!

Many moons ago there was a man named Hou Yi who saved his people by shooting down 9 out of 10 suns that randomly arose in the sky 😎 An immortal was so impressed by this they gave him an immortality elixir! BOOYAH! But then one day his good for nothing apprentice tried to steal it 🙄 so Hou Yi’s wife, Chang’e, drank it all to save it and it made her float up to the moon and she became the moon goddess of immortality! Ugh! Classic amiright ladies? The things u do for ur man 🤦‍♀️

So yeah! Make sure to leave out some goodies for Chang’e tonight! It’s so confusing to be a girl….
